About MechanicalKeyboard.net
MechanicalKeyboard.net is a solo-run publication driven by one mission: provide as much knowledge as possible for mechanical keyboard readers. Whether you are buying your first keyboard or your tenth, we exist to help you make an informed decision with honest, hands-on content you can trust.
Who Runs This Site
Hi, I am Aksara. I am a full-stack digital marketer, blogger, YouTuber, and lifelong tech enthusiast. Mechanical keyboards started as a personal hobby and quickly became an obsession. What began with a single hot-swappable board has grown into a collection that spans every layout, switch type, and mounting style I can get my hands on.
By day, I work in digital marketing. By night, I take keyboards apart, swap switches, photograph builds, measure battery life from real daily use, and write about every detail that matters to an enthusiast buyer. I bring the same analytical approach to keyboards that I bring to marketing: test everything, trust nothing at face value, and present the data so you can decide for yourself.
You can also find me on YouTube (@aksarairl) where I post keyboard reviews, sound tests, and build logs that complement the written content on this site.
Why This Site Exists
The mechanical keyboard space is crowded with press-sample reviews that return products after two weeks. Most reviews read the same because everyone tests the same way with the same access. I wanted something different:
- Long-term ownership. Every keyboard I review is either bought with my own money or kept long enough to form real opinions. Two weeks is not enough to find a keyboard’s quirks.
- Real switch swaps. I test 5+ switch types in every compatible board and describe how each one sounds and feels. No other review site does this consistently.
- Honest battery reporting. I quantify battery life from actual daily driving across multiple scenarios. No fake milliamp readings or marketing copy masquerading as data.
- Cross-platform testing. Most reviews test on Windows only. I test on Mac and Linux too because real enthusiasts use all three.

Our Review Philosophy
We do not accept payment for positive coverage. If a manufacturer sends a sample, it is disclosed. If the review is negative, it stays negative. Our audience’s trust is worth more than any affiliate commission or sample program.
Every score is backed by hands-on testing across multiple categories: build quality, typing experience, switch swap potential, software, battery, ergonomics, and value. We score honestly, and we explain every point deducted.
